Jutta Sika "Syrius" vase for Bakalowits & Sohne

This wonderful large vase was designed by Jutta Sika and is part of the "Syrius" range that was retailed by the Viennese glassware retailers Bakalowits & Sohne. It was probably made in 1900-1910 in Vienna possibly by Loetz. The vase tapers from the broad circular base to a slightly tulip shaped top with three handles. The iridescent colour grades from greenish/pink at the base to intense pink at the top and the exterior has 16 incised lines that become more blurred as they travel down the glass from the tulip shaped top and create an impression of the vase being sixteen sided.
The more you look at this vase the more you see.
